Easter Message & Poem from The Revd. Michele Kitto
Hope in a pandemic
Cast your eyes back just a week
Church afresh, Palms held, clocks jump forward
Hosanna cried, singing muted!
Cast your eyes back to the cross
Hot cross buns, tears of lament, final hour
Hosanna remembered, singing is pointless.
Cast your eyes today to the tomb
Stone rolled away, tomb is empty, women afraid
Hosanna is a memory, singing outside.
Cast your eyes to the Easter message
Hope and love, lockdown unfurling, families relived
Hosanna is louder, singing allowed soon!
Cast your eyes to your own faith today
Christ is Risen, transformed by resurrection, God of surprises
Hosanna in the highest, sing it on your hearts and minds.
